Biosynth was founded in 1966 by Hans Spitz, and has grown to a global products and services business. Biosynth merged with Carbosynth in 2019 to form Biosynth Carbosynth, cementing the organization’s position as a world leader in carbohydrates, nuclesosides and enzyme substrates. In 2022 Biosynth Carbosynth acquired vivitide, which strengthened its offering in peptide and antibody products and services. Biosynth Carbosynth is owned by KKR, Ampersand and senior management.
